Sweet baby Lily is here and is oh so precious! We had the most amazing Asheville newborn photography shoot together and I simply could not wait any longer to share a few of her photos!
Almost two months ago I captured Amanda + Tyler’s maternity photos while baby Lily was still growing in Mommy’s belly. We had the most beautiful evening at Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC for those photos, and I knew that our newborn session together was going to be wonderful, too.
When I first arrived at this family’s home for their Asheville newborn photography, Lily had just been fed and was hanging out on the couch with her Daddy. As we all chatted a bit I washed my hands, turned off some lights, and took note of where the good outdoor light was coming in. Just a few minutes later I set up an area on the couch for Lily’s solo shots, right next to a big bright window. It was the absolute perfect spot! From here I took Lily and swaddled her into one of her cute swaddle blankets. She was very settled through this whole process an only peeked her eyes open at me once. She was a very happy and content baby right at this moment so I took a few minutes and captured many photos of her alone.
After this we transitioned to photos of her in a basket, with her big brother dog, with her parents, and in her crib. I loved capturing all of these with the abundance of love that is in this home! Throughout the entire session Lily was sleepy, settled, and surrounded by love, which is the perfect way to be for this Asheville newborn photography!

Capturing Asheville newborn photography is such an amazing experience for me. I am welcomed into someone else’s home with open arms, even though they have a new tiny human to care for in that space. I get to learn about the family, how they are settling in, and what their upcoming plans are. I bring in a little gear, find the beautiful light, swaddle baby in a cute wrap, and move through my session with care, patience, and skill. I do this all while keeping baby settled with smooth transitions, bottom pats, and shushing. It’s a calm and sweet experience that I absolutely love! Plus, every once in a while Mom and Dad have their hands full with something else and I get to snuggle a newborn baby for just a few seconds! That always makes my week!
