Meet Avalyn, a sweet and spunky kiddo who was a delight to photograph for her one year photos in Asheville! Her big smile, happy spirit, little leg rolls, and beautiful flower crown were simply perfect for her photo session!
This happy girl turned 1 year old on the very day we captured her one year photos. I absolutely LOVE when timing lines up for us! Being able to capture a little girl’s one year milestone on her actual birthday is so very perfect. It makes the time together and photographs we produce so much more special. Plus for me, it’s an honor to be a part of a first birthday!
For this session we met at The North Carolina Arboretum on the evening of Avalyn’s birthday. The air was warm, the sun was behind clouds, and the arboretum grounds were fairly quiet. This was all perfect for our photo session so we got started right away. Sweet Avalyn had begun walking a few days prior, but still loved to sit and look around. So to start off our session we placed her at the end of the garden and asked her to walk to us. She decided to sit right down and get comfy! It was the cutest! She looked, smiled at us, laughed, and was oh so cute! From there Mommy got her up and moving throughout the garden. With family snuggles on Mom and Dad, and Avalyn showing her personality by herself, we had a wonderful first half of our session. Oh, and that flower crown! I am in love with it!
On the way to our cake smash location we stopped at a knoll which was perfect for a few photos of Avalyn by herself while sitting in her rocking chair. I loved the depth of this area and how Avalyn really popped in the photos! It looks like she will simply float away with the big white balloons! What a perfect birthday photo!
For Avalyn’s cake smash we had a beautiful big cake that smelled amazing! Sweet Avalyn sat with it for a minute, stuck one finger in, investigated, and then dug right in feet first! It was the sweetest! After a few minutes she took a moment to share some cake and frosting with her Daddy in such a sweet and gentle manner. This little one did a fantastic job with her cake smash, and her entire photo session!
