Roan Mountain, TN Wedding Photographer | Haley + Alex Wedding Photos Preview

These two lovelies chose our gorgeous Blue Ridge Mountains as their backdrop for Roan Mountain State Park wedding photos, and I am so happy that they did! As a Roan Mountain wedding photographer, standing on Round Bald with them and capturing their love in photographs was an honor and so much fun!
When I first met Alex and Haley I could tell right away that they are very laid back, love everything outdoors, and wanted breathtaking wedding photographs. We made an instant connection on the phone talking about outdoor activities we love, Grand Canyon rafting trip stories, and more! They met working at a local river for an outdoor company, just like my husband and I did! With all of this chatter I knew we were a great match and that I was already excited to provide them with the beautiful mountain top wedding photos they dreamed of!
As we talked I learned that they wanted to hike to the top of Round Bald, in Roan Mountain, TN for their couples photos on their wedding day. Haley hesitantly asked me if that would be okay. Pssshhhh… is that okay?! Of course! I love hiking, I love photographing, and I love mountain views! I instantly got excited and said “Yes! Let’s do it!!” From that moment on, I could hardly wait for their big day to arrive!
In the week leading up Haley and Alex’s wedding the weather forecast called for more and more rain. Thankfully, when it came to Saturday the rain pushed off to the north and we were handed a gorgeous cloudy day. It was cool and breezy, especially on Carver’s Gap and at the top of Round Bald, but it was a beautiful day for mountain top wedding photos!
After Haley and Alex’s couples photos we headed back to Roan Mountain State Park for their wedding ceremony and reception in the conference center. We arrived to a crowd of their family and friends ready to help celebrate with them, and the feeling couldn’t have been better!
