With the spring greens popping here in Asheville, Patrick asked Cathleen to marry him in a gorgeous mountain view spot at The NC Arboretum! She said “Yes!” during this NC Arboretum engagement and I adored capturing this sweet proposal and their love through the gardens!
As you know, I LOVE capturing proposal photography and engagement photography! I love being a part of the planning, I love being a part of the surprise, and I love capturing love! The little nuances that happen while a couple in love spends time together are priceless. I get to capture those moments and freeze them in time for the couple to look back at! It’s incredible, and it was such an honor to capture photos for this NC Arboretum engagement!
The NC Arboretum has many beautiful spots for proposal and engagement photos. From manicured gardens and pathways to open green space and trails, the options are almost endless! That is one thing that I love about NC Arboretum engagement photos, the option for diversity in a photo gallery is amazing! Wandering through the quilt garden provides beautiful colors from flowers and plants, walking the concrete pathways gives a linear feel to photographs, snuggling in the open green space with the mountains behind really lets nature shine, and finding a quiet nook in the gardens for close photos gives an intimate feel.
For Patrick’s proposal, he decided to ask his big question to Cathleen with a wide open mountain view in the background. I love this spot for a few reasons- it has a beautiful mountain view, it’s a quiet area of the arboretum, and in the evening, the light is beautiful! It’s perfect for a NC Arboretum engagement!
As Patrick and Cathleen approached the area for his NC Arboretum engagement, they passed the proposal spot and sat on a nearby rock wall. They took in the scenery and looked through a scrapbook that Patrick put together, of photos and memories of the two of them. After a few minutes, they stood, walked to the open space, and looked out at the mountains. Here, Patrick proposed, and from behind the bushes, I captured the entire thing! Cathleen’s reaction was absolutely beautiful and she was stunned! I could feel the happiness and love emanating from the two of them!
After Cathleen and Patrick took time to enjoy the moment of their engagement, I introduced myself and congratulated them. At that time, we began to capture their NC Arboretum engagement photos around the property. We started at their proposal spot, capturing more photos with open mountain views, before heading a short distance into the grass for photos with trees and mountains. I loved how these two held onto each other the entire time, it was the cutest! Next, we walked into the manicured gardens and captured photos among the colorful flowers and plants. Cathleen and Patrick sat and snuggled for a bit during the photos, they danced, and they shared so much laughter! I loved capturing it all!
