Douglas Ellington House is a unique and historic home that sits in a tranquil landscape just outside of downtown Asheville, NC. Its unparalleled beauty amongst the tall oak trees and trickling creek makes this house absolutely perfect for an elopement or Douglas Ellington House wedding.
When I first saw Douglas Ellington House, it took my breath away. I truly had no words to describe it, except “Wow!”, “This is amazing!”, and “How incredible!” It’s architecture is like nothing I’ve seen before. The green ivy, stonework, old windows, and tiny hidden features make this 100+ year old home especially magical. The man who built it, Douglas Ellington, was a well known architect here in western North Carolina with work at Asheville High School and S&W Cafeteria, among others. With all of this beauty and history, any couple would be extremely lucky to be married here, and thankfully, that will be happening soon! The Douglas Ellington House wedding venue is now open and I am beyond excited to be part of the team!
In preparation for opening its doors, Douglas Ellington House in Asheville hosted a styled shoot with its team of vendors. Collaboration always excites me, however this particular one had me over the moon! From florals to calligraphy, and catering to cakes, it was an incredible styled shoot! With the chosen fall theme, all of the deep hues and saturated colors were absolutely perfect with the stonework of Douglas Ellington House as the backdrop. Plus, we had a perfect late summer day with warm sunshine, a cool breeze, and lots of smiles and excitement from everyone on the team!
As you can tell, I am beyond excited for Asheville’s newest wedding venue. As an Asheville wedding photographer, I see many venues whether new or already established. Douglas Ellington House is bringing a unique venue experience to Asheville, and it’s going to be an amazing attribute!
