This late fall wedding at Hawkesdene in Andrews, NC was beyond beautiful and it was a perfect ending to my fall wedding season. The spots of fall color still on the trees behind the bridesmaids gorgeous floor length moss dresses, the light pink and white rose bouquets paired with deep colored greenery, and the family’s 200 year old cake knife ready for this beautiful couples cake cutting were all incredible! I love this Hawkesdene fall wedding photography!
As expected, here in the mountains the weather can be hit or miss in mid November. This year though, Mother Nature is giving us cool nights, sunny warm days, and fall color that’s lasted for weeks! When I arrived at Hawkesdene for Kimberly and Brian’s wedding, it was no different. The sun was shining, the air temperate was warm, and pops of orange and yellow were still among the forest trees, giving us a beautiful backdrop for late fall. Throughout the property, staff was preparing for the wedding and guests were bustling about while they caught up with one another. Kimberly was in the bridal loft getting ready with her bridesmaids rocking out to their favorite music, and Brian was in the game room with the guys learning how to fold pocket squares from videos on the internet. Everyone was smiling and excited for this big day, including me!
I LOVE being a wedding photographer at Hawkesdene in Andrews. The estate is incredibly beautiful with immaculate gardens, open green spaces, a trickling creek, bridges, alpacas and llamas, a barn, a private mountain top veranda, and more. The photo opportunities at Hawkesdene are truly endless. I also love that when couples host their weddings there, friends and family come from all over the country and all stay together for the entire weekend. It’s like a camp for big kids, with the fun of a wedding!
Kimberly and Brian chose to host their wedding ceremony in the main drive, which is my favorite ceremony location at Hawkesdene. The towering crepe myrtle trees provide a gorgeous canopy over the ceremony space and the soft lit string lights give a romantic ambiance. It’s beautiful and feels intimate, no matter the number of guests.
At the start of the ceremony after Kimberly and her father walked the long aisle, and Brian took Kimberly’s hand, the two could hardly contain their excitement! Through saying their vows and the celebration of marriage, Kimberly jumped up and down while Brian swayed back and forth. It was amazing to witness their excitement, and I was beyond honored to be a part of it!
For the rest of the evening Kimberly and Brian stood side by side through their photos, dinner, toasts, and dancing. Their smiles never ceased and the love and support given to them from their friends and family was immense. It was wonderful to watch, and I loved capturing it all!
Congratulations, Kimberly and Brian! I adored capturing your Hawkesdene fall wedding photography!

Kimberly + Brian’s wonderful Hawkesdene fall wedding photography review on Wedding Wire:
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ “Out-of-state wedding, November 2019. We had a great experience with Jessica, not only on our wedding day, but before and after it as well. We live in FL, but were getting married in Andrew’s NC, so we never actually met Jessica until our wedding day. Regardless, she always communicated with us well during the planning phase, answered all of our questions timely, and was a pleasure to speak with. On the big day, she worked seamlessly with our coordinator, and got so many amazing pictures during our ceremony and our reception- never missing a moment. She knew we were stressed about getting a few photos at the top of a mountain before sundown (attached), so she worked very hard to get all other photos taken on time – all without making us feel the least bit rushed – and then took us to our favorite location and got some stunning shots. Once all was said and done, Jessica gave us previews of photos while she worked, and kept us informed about when she was going to have the photos ready by, and how we can get them to our friends and family. She worked quickly to get us our photos in a timely manner (even got them to us earlier than the expected date, actually). They were stunning, and were so fun to look at because she captured a lot of moments that we missed during the hustle and bustle of the day. After all of that, she worked with us to put together a beautiful photo album (part of our package with her). She put it all together, confirmed the layout, photos, album cover, and lettering style with us, and sent it out around Christmas. She even emailed us beforehand to make sure we were going to be home for the holidays to receive it and offered to delay sending it out until we got home if we were planning on leaving town. All in all, Jessica was the perfect photographer. We never had any concern and never felt like we needed to stress over what pictures will be captured or where she will be on the day – it was nice to feel confident that leaving Jessica to her own devices would result in beautiful, thoughtful, and memorable photos. Thanks for everything Jessica!”
