From mountain tops to waterfalls, and from gorgeous hidden inns to tiny chapels, Asheville, NC has a plethora of stunning locations to host your elopement, and as an Asheville elopement photographer, I would love to capture it! Our mountains are gorgeous in every season, and our temperate climate is inviting year round. Asheville is truly the perfect place to elope!
As an Asheville elopement photographer, I have photographed elopements all over the region in gorgeous private areas, and in public spaces like local gardens and along the Blue Ridge Parkway. We have a very diverse landscape in this area, boasting endless beautiful spots for life events like an elopement!
Though there are elopement companies here in the Asheville area, I recommend working directly with the few vendors that you need. This way, you ensure that you are getting the exact services that you want, in the style that you want. For instance, when you work directly with vendors, you get to talk with the officiant in advance and work through your ceremony and vows so that they feel exactly right to you. You also get to work with the florist and get the bouquet that is a perfect fit for your vision. Choosing your own hair stylist and makeup artist is very important, since you want to look perfect on your big day and in your photos! When it comes to photography, you definitely want your photos captured and edited in a style that speaks to you, so working directly with a photographer that you trust is a must! Plus, working directly with an Asheville elopement photographer allows you to ask for recommendations for gorgeous elopement locations, the best time and light of the day to capture your elopement at that location, and more! Alternatively, when working with an elopement company, couples are often paired with vendors who the company thinks will be a good fit, not vendors that the couple chooses and are a great fit.
Are you ready to plan your elopement? I can help as an Asheville elopement photographer.
5 steps of how to plan an elopement in Asheville, NC
1) Find an elopement photographer!
As as Asheville elopement photographer, I am here to help you! During a call or video chat to meet and get to know each other, we will also talk about the best time of day for photos, a tentative timeline, photography tips, vendor ideas, and more! I am not an elopement planner, but with my 13+ years of experience, I can definitely help get you on the right track!
2) Choose a location.
I can help with this, too! I have seen countless stunning elopement locations, from mountain tops to waterfalls, and from gorgeous hidden inns to tiny chapels. You can even see some samples below!
3) Find other vendors.
There are so many amazing vendors in the Asheville area who specialize in elopements and weddings. I recommend researching your own based on your preferences, though I am always happy to recommend my favorite and trusted local vendors as a starting point! Be sure to read reviews, have a call to ensure that you’re a great fit, and sign a contract.
4) Get your marriage license.
Plan to arrive in Asheville a little early so that you can get your marriage license before your elopement! In this county, your marriage license can be obtained at the Buncombe County Register of Deeds office. In other counties, I recommend contacting their register of deeds offices for information.
5) The big day!
You are choosing to elope for a reason, and part of that is likely because of the simplicity. Let’s keep it this way! With your few trusted vendors lined up, relax and enjoy the day with your spouse-to-be!
